Congratulations to Lorraine Beshore, a sixth grade teacher at Swatara Middle School, for being named the “Outstanding Woman of the Year” by the Beta Iota Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma.
Central Dauphin East High School will present, “Taming of the Shrew” November 20th and 21st at 7:30 p.m. There will be a free performance for senior citizens on Thursday, November 19th at 10:30 a.m.
Central Dauphin East High School’s Student Council will hold its annual Craft Fair on November 21st from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Central Dauphin East High School’s Freshman Academy participated in the nationally acclaimed assembly, “Making High School Count,” on November 16th. “Making High School Count” is a one-hour assembly sponsored by Monster Worldwide Inc. and is designed to help freshman understand the importance of high school and what they need to do to maximize their success upon graduation.
Mr. Bruce Leib, U.S. History Teacher and Boys Head Basketball Coach, was the guest speaker at Central Dauphin East Middle School’s “Celebrate Success” assembly on November 13th. “Celebrate Success” is a rewards assembly for students making honors during a marking period.
Congratulations to the following seniors for signing their “letters of intent” to continue their academic and athletic careers at Division I Colleges: Cody Webster of CDEHS – Purdue University for football; Caitlyn Bassett of CDHS- Bryant College for basketball; Jonathan Lutz of CDHS – George Mason University for volleyball; Marshall Peppleman of CDHS – Cornell University for wrestling and Alyssa Thomas of CDHS – University of Maryland for basketball.
Central Dauphin High School will hold its Four Diamonds Mini-Thon on November 21st at 6 p.m.
The Central Dauphin High School Alumni Association will sponsor a Texas Roadhouse Night (Union Deposit Road) on Wednesday, December 9th from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Proceeds from the evening will benefit the Veterans Memorial and Student Scholarship Funds. North Side Elementary celebrates National Writing Day on November 20th. Students will be shown a clip of Lucy Calkins talking about the importance of writing and students taking an interest in their own writing.
South Side Elementary School will hold its annual Vocabulary Hat Day on November 20th. Students and staff select a word from the curriculum and display its definition on a hat. A parade throughout the school of the staff and students will be held at 2:30 p.m.
