Mr. Curtis Glidewell is the Director of Bands at Central Dauphin East High School. Mr. Glidewell is a graduate of Shepherd University and holds a Bachelor of Music Education. His major instrument is trombone. Currently, Mr. Glidewell is working toward a Master of Music in Education at West Chester University. Before coming to East High, Mr. Glidewell was the Director of Bands at Brunswick High School, Brunswick, Maryland. He has performed regularly with the Frederick Symphony in Frederick, Maryland and the Loudoun Symphony in Leesburg, Virginia. With the Shepherd University Jazz Ensemble and Choir he has performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival and in the Vatican; with the SU Wind Ensemble he has performed at Carnegie Hall. Mr. Glidewell resides in Mechanicsburg with his family.
The Bands offered at East High include Concert Band (9th grade), Symphonic Band (10-12th grade), Wind Ensemble (auditioned 10-12th graders) and Jazz Band.
