Rutherford Elementary is a Title 1 building.  Title 1 is the largest federal aid program for elementary, middle, and high schools.  Through Title 1, money is allocated to schools districts around the country based on the number of low-income families in each district.  Each distict uses Title 1 money for extra services for children in need of educational help.  

How are Title 1 Funds used?

     * Class size reduction

     * Additional teachers and/or para-professionals

     * Parent/Family Involvement Funds

     * Additional professional development for school staff

     * Parent instructional materials
