    • Sorting objects into groups based on shape

             -If I have a group of objects with 4 sides, does the circle or square belong in it?

     

    • Addition and Subtraction 
    • Measurement using a ruler
    • Telling time
    • Understanding place value

              -15 is one ten and 5 ones

    • Solving one step word problems

                   -If John has 6 apples and Amiyah eats 4, how many are there left?

    • ** Addition and Subtraction fast facts will be started after the New Year.  When the concepts are more secure, please continue to work on the fluency and speed of the facts so they are learned by heart.

    Our goal this year is to teach your child several new stories within the “Journey’s” reading curriculum.  These stories will be reflected on several times a week and will the students with skills such as—

    -Determining Plot, Setting, Characters, and Theme

    -Defining Main Idea and Author’s Purpose

    -Inferencing, Prediction, Summarizing and Sequencing

    -Identifying Problem and Solution
