At the beginning of the school year, each classroom was engaged in an activity to create a set of rules that would help them to learn in a safe environment.  Students started by identifying their hopes and dreams.  Then they were asked to come up with some rules that would help them to achieve that dream.  After creating a large set of rules, the teacher helped students to narrow it down to 3-5 rules that everyone could agree on.  These rules are simple and are in addition to the school-wide rules the entire school follows.
