East High Community,
The 2023-2024 school year is nearly upon us, and I am eager to continue working with the students, staff, and families of East High, while expanding on the positive relationships that were built over the past year. At East High, we are creating exciting opportunities for our students and invite all stakeholders to connect with our mission, vision, and core values. #BEGREAT
My career journey began in the business world. I originally graduated from Alvernia University with a Bachelor's degree in accounting and a minor in communication. After working in the public accounting field for a short time, I was fortunate to receive an opportunity to coach high school boys' soccer. That experience made me realize how much I enjoyed working with the youth and being a part of a school community. I returned to Alvernia University and received my teaching certification in business, computers, and information technology. Since then, I have been an educator for over ten years and have earned a Master’s degree in urban education, a principal certification, and a certification as a registered athletic administrator.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, who have been so supportive of my personal and professional life, watching movies, and history. Additionally, I am very passionate about athletics! I enjoy cycling and watching various sports, especially soccer and ice hockey.
I encourage our students and their families to be highly involved at East High and look forward to meeting many new faces. Go Panthers!
Kind Regards,
Mr. Andy Dornes, M. Ed., RAA
