If you have students traveling out of the country, they are expected to follow the guidelines. I have included the specific information that impacts return to the US below.
- Before you arrive in the United States:
- All air passengers coming to the United States, including U.S. citizens and fully vaccinated people, are required to have a negative COVID-19 viral test result no more than 3 days before travel or documentation of recovery from COVID-19 in the past 3 months before they board a flight to the United States.

- Even if you test negative, stay home and self-quarantine for the full 7 days.
- If your test is positive, isolate yourself to protect others from getting infected.
- If you don’t get tested, stay home and self-quarantine for 10 days after travel.
- Avoid being around people who are at increased risk for severe illness for 14 days, whether you get tested or not.

COVID-19 TESTING - SEPTEMBER 16, 2021
Beginning in the next few weeks, any student enrolled in the Central Dauphin School District will have access to COVID-19 testing. This testing, at no cost to CDSD families or the District, is confidential and will be offered for students who show symptoms of COVID-19 during the school day. Roving nurses will be available to test symptomatic students. A guardian must provide signed permission prior to testing.
The ability for this testing will allow the school district to maintain a better handle on the ever-changing COVID-19 situation. Throughout the year, as the need arises, students can be tested at their home school building. Overall, this will give the school district the ability to specifically address the needs of the individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19 and quickly and accurately identify individuals who need to be quarantined.
The health and safety of all students and staff continues to be a priority of the Central Dauphin School District. The implementation of these safety measures, combined with the low transmission rates within the Central Dauphin School District, mean that for most students and their families, in-person learning is an option that they can pursue.
