Hi! My name is Mrs. Heather Hetrick and the 2022-2023 school year kicks off my 14th year as a learning support teacher in the Central Dauphin School District. I am so lucky to be working with some of the best students and teachers in our district again this year! I am most looking forward to starting the new school year and getting to see everyone in person on Monday, August 29th!
My husband and I moved to our first home together in April 2022. We spent the summer doing numerous projects to make it our own. Landscaping and watering our new grass seed was by far our biggest project. It kept us very busy as it didn't rain much this summer. We did manage to get to the beach for two short trips and to spend time with family. I also enjoyed working with some new middle schoolers for 4 weeks in July during their summer school program at West Hanover.
Although I am sad to see summer come to an end, I am also very excited to get to work with each and every one of you again and hear how your summers went!
I am an alumni of Central Dauphin School District. I attended Paxtonia Elementary (K-6), East Junior High (7-8), and Central Dauphin High School (9-12). I was actually a member of the first class to graduate out of the new Central Dauphin High School in 2005. I graduated from Millersville University in May 2009 with a B.S. in Elementary Education and Special Education. In May 2013, I received my Masters of Education with a concentration in Reading Specialist through Cabrini College.
I enjoy reading or listening to books (audiobooks), mini golfing, going to the movies, trying new restaurants, traveling to new places, going to see musicals and plays, and seeing local school musicals. I can't wait to see some of my past students in the musicals as they get older!
I am excited to hear how everyone's summer went when we return to school on August 29th as well as hopefully learn about any new students that moved to West Hanover!I look forward to meeting and learning about each of you soon!
