• School Hours:

Students may start arriving at 8:45 with the school day officially starting at 9:00. Dismissal begins at 3:40 daily.

    Transportation:

If you plan to pick up your child that normally rides the bus, you must send in a written note or contact the office. We cannot rely on your child to tell us this information. If no written note or phone call is received, your child will be sent home by his/her usual method of transportation.

    Notes:

When writing notes, please make sure you tell your child that you are sending a note in their folder. Often times, students do not realize important notes are in their folders and then I do not get the note. Please write separate notes for different requests. For example, absence notes get sent straight to the office and others stay with the teacher. By writing separate notes, you help us ensure that the information gets to the correct person.

    Take Home Folders:

Folders should be looked at every night. Please look through all the papers to see what can be kept at home and what needs to be signed, completed, and returned. This is a wonderful time to discuss with your child what he/she did at school! If you are sending a note or returning papers to school, please make sure your child knows the notes or papers are in his/her folder and that he/she should give those things to me.

    Absences and Coming in Late:

If your child is going to be absent, you may call the school and/or e-mail me to let me know. Even if you call or e-mail about an absence, a note including the dates of absence and reason for absence will be required when your child returns to school. If your child is sick with a fever, please keep him/her home until he/she is fever free, without medication, for 24 hours. By doing this, you are helping us reduce the spread of germs and viruses.

If you know you are going on a vacation, please send a note in to school or call the school secretary so we can make sure you receive the educational trip form. Education trip forms can also be found on the district website if you click on “forms” on the right side of the screen. Educational trip forms must be filled out and approved before your trip.

    Book Bags:

Book bags should be big enough to fit folders, library books and regular sized papers (8 ½ x 11 inches) and book bags come to school every day. Please be sure to label your child’s book bag with his/her name as there are usually duplicates of book bags! Please be sure to check and empty your child’s book bag daily.

Students should not bring toys to school. Also, please do not send supplies such as pencils, crayons, markers, etc to school as we have all they will need in the classroom.
