Welcome to the life skills and autistic support work experience program!Students may participate in the work experience program from grades 9 to 12. Participation in the program is highly recommended and decisions regarding the work program will be made yearly at your child's IEP (Individualized Education Plan) meeting.Students in each of the four life skills and three autistic support classes have the opportunity to work at a non paid training site located in the surrounding community. There are currently 2 non paid sites that we are utilizing and they include: NutriPacks and Calvary United Methodist Church. We are only utilizing these 2 locations at this time as they are non-profits which allows for us to be out of the schools to work on work skills in a safer environment versus working in a site that the students would come into contact with the public. We are taking these precautions at this time due to the COVID-19 pandemic.Further information including locations of work sites, phone numbers, and dress code can be found on individual fact sheets found on this web site. Also found on this web site is a basic work skills checklist, information about moving through the program and different post school employment options available to students. If you have any questions about this program, please contact me at the address, phone number, or email address listed on the first page of this web site.
