The number of children and adolescents that are overweight or obese has reached epidemic proportions.  In response to the overwhelming number of overweight and obese children and adolescents, congress recently put the Child Nutrition & WIC Reauthorization Act into law. This law was passed in an effort to strengthen child nutrition programs and improve their effectiveness.

School’s play a key role in reversing the obesity trend. With this in mind, the Child Nutrition & WIC Reauthorization Act: requires local wellness policies to be established in all school districts by July 2006.  The Nutrition Group is concerned about the health and well-being of the customers we serve. We understand that proper nutrition is an important element of good health and readiness to learn. Therefore, The Nutrition Group is working together with your school district to create a healthy school environment. In addition to adhering to the set nutritional standards in the school district wellness policy, The Nutrition Group has also implemented the following nutritional goals.
