    Autism Volunteering
Are you interested in volunteering with teens with autism?  The Division of Autism Services at Penn State College of Medicine is looking for volunteers between the ages of 13 and 18 to assist with our ongoing social group, which aims to improve social skills in adolescents with Asperger’s Syndrome and high-functioning autism. Volunteers would serve as a peer by socially interacting with these young adults in a variety of activities.   Volunteers must be available Wednesday evenings from 5:30 -7:00p.m.  If you are interested in volunteering,, contact Jesse Northridge at(jnorthridge@pennstatehealth.psu.edu) or  (717) 531-0003  x285974.  For more information, see Mrs. Potter in the guidance suite.

    Teacher Assistance

Teachers around the building are looking for help with various tasks.  If you would like to volunteer to help, send Mr. Pollock an email with the periods you are available.  He can then send you an email with the teachers who may need help that period.  Since you are all busy people, you will not have to report every day.  Simply check in with that teacher in the morning and see if they need any help on days you are available. That teacher can write you a pass. Keep track of the hours/days you assist them on your own.

    Peer Tutoring

Peer tutors are always requested by students needing extra help.  If you would like to be a peer tutor, please email Mr. Pollock with the periods you are free and the subjects you would be willing/able to tutor.  If someone needs help during that time, you will be contacted.
