Throughout the school year we will learn about the school rules, recess rules, hallway rules, assembly rules, and bus rules. We will learn how to be a good friend and a good student. We will also learn what it means to be a good citizen and a positive part of the school community.
Our classroom rules are: Raise my hand, quiet mouth, listening ears, walking feet, and hands to self. We encourage all students to do their best on a daily basis :)Other School InformationSchool colors and Staff: Paxtonia's colors are blue and white. GO MUSTANGS!Visitors: If you are ever visiting the school for any reason, you MUST sign in at the office and wear a visitor's badge at ALL TIMES. Due to confidentiality, if you would like to visit your child's classroom, you will need prior permission from the special education supervisor. If you would like to visit the classroom, please let me know and we can make it happen :).Car Riders: Pick-up for car riders is the cafeteria at 3:40 P.M. Please send a note if your child is going to be a car rider.Absences: If your child is absent or has an early dismissal, please send a note. If your child is late arriving to school, please sign them in at the office. A doctor's excuse is necessary if your child is not to have outdoor recess or gym class.Personal Care: Accidents happen! If your child is prone to accidents, please send in an extra set of clothes with your child for us to keep at school.
Dress Code: We go outside for recess throughout the school year, so please dress your child according to the weather. School dress guidelines can be found in the student code of conduct you received at the beginning of the year. Please make sure your child wears sneakers on gym days!
School supples: Please provide a bookbag for your child to bring to school each day. No other school supplies are necessary from home. Toys should not come to school in your child's bookbag as they can be distracting. Toys are also not typically permitted on the bus or at recess for safety reasons.
Birthdays: A small birthday treat may be sent to school. Please let me know ahead of time. Please make sure the treats are healthy or provide a healthy alternative. Birthday treats should not have nuts or nut products due to possible allergies. Please do not send party invitations to school unless each child in the class is invited.
Snow delay schedules: When there is a 1-hour delay. AM kindergarten arrives at 10:00 A.M. and departs at 11:45 A.M. PM kindergarten is normal. All other students arrive at 10:00 A.M. When there is a 2-hour delay, AM kindergarten arrives at 11:00 A.M. and departs at 12:45 PM, and PM kindergarten arrives at 1:45 P.M. and departs normally. All other students arrive at 11:00 A.M. If we would ever have to dismiss early, your child would most likely ride their AM bus back home that day.
PTA: The PTA supports many beneficial programs and assemblies throughout the school year for our students. Show your support and join today! PTA support has allowed us to purchase classroom books, SMART Boards, and the Weather Bug! Please remember to save your Boxtops, Campbell's soup labels, Tyson A+ labels, and Nestle's Pure Life water bottle labels and send them to school. Every bit counts!
