English Language Arts
Grade 6's core English Language Arts resource is Amplify ELA, a blended program aimed at helping students master skills such as reading complex texts, drawing conclusions, and finding personal relevance. It empowers students to read and write in various styles—like authors, directors, scientists, playwrights, and poets—to enrich their learning experiences. Amplify ELA's diverse range of texts enhances knowledge and fosters connections from kindergarten through eighth grade.
In Grades 7 and 8, ELA students will engage in diverse literacy skills across genres, reading and comprehending both fiction and non-fiction independently. They will develop writing proficiency through crafting narratives, explanatory texts, and evidence-based arguments. Additionally, students will learn about digital citizenship for responsible online behavior and practice public speaking to enhance their presentation skills.
