English as a Second Language

The Central Dauphin School District provides an educational program for each student whose dominant language is not English.  Each LIEP (Language Instructional Educational Program) is designed to meet student needs and facilitate academic achievement and English proficiency.

ELs (English Learners) will have a program that will utilize a variety of information to determine program placement and student scheduling.  The LIEP will be flexible and allow for changes, as needed, based on the instructional needs and language proficiency of each student.
