Accessibility Statement
The Central Dauphin School District (CDSD) is committed to ensuring that people with disabilities have an opportunity, equal to that of their nondisabled peers, to participate in District programs, activities, benefits, and services, including those delivered through electronic and information technology. Our district uses the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.2. AA) as our standard.
Two Federal laws, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act (Section 504), require educational institutions to provide equal opportunities to people with disabilities in all their operations, including equal opportunities to participate in and benefit from online services, programs, and activities. This includes taking appropriate steps to ensure that communications with individuals with disabilities are as effective as communications with others, including providing appropriate auxiliary aids and services. Auxiliary aids and services include open and closed captioning, and accessible electronic and information technology, among other methods. Likewise, Section 504 provides, in part, that no otherwise qualified individuals with a disability shall, solely by reason of their disability, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.
We are in the process of updating our website and working with the Department of Education Office for Civil Rights to ensure we are meeting the WCAG 2.2. standards. If you are having trouble accessing any portion of our website, please contact our Accessibility Team at accessibility@cdschools.org. When contacting us, please indicate the issue and include the web address or URL of the web page or application.
CDSD students with disabilities are supported by the Special Education Office and the office phone number is 717-214-5076, ext 90284.
If you believe you are experiencing or witnessing discrimination based on disability, please contact the Human Resources Office at 717-545-4703, ext 70234.
Despite the best efforts of the CDSD to ensure accessibility of information, there may be some limitations. The CDSD cannot ensure the quality of contributions and information the district provides as a courtesy. Uploaded images may not have text alternatives, older or archived documents might not adapt to current assistive technologies and readability access could vary. If this is the case, please contact the CDSD at 717-545-4703 or by email at accessibility@cdschools.org if the document or information is needed in a different format.
