CHORUS & GENERAL MUSIC
WITH MR. STEVENS!
In General Music students will work on learning to appreciate the wide, WIDE,
world of music through many FUN and CHALLENGING activities! We focus on providing a foundation that students can use as they move through the Central Dauphin district's EXCELLENT, INSPIRING, and ESSENTIAL MUSIC PROGRAM!
WHAT DO WE LEARN?
Students learn the basics of reading music, rhythmic skills, instrumental technique, improving hand / eye coordination, developing listening skills, performance skills, encouraging healthy vocal development, tonal recognition, instrument identification, style identification, pattern recognition, cultivating an understanding of our culture and its history, cultivating an understanding and appreciation of other cultures, creating music, improvisation, learning how music is connected to other disciplines...THE LIST GOES ON!
Music has long been a key part of what goes into making an "educated individual." It has countless SCIENTIFICALLY PROVEN medical and intellectual benefits! It enhances every person's quality of life! Music unlocks our potential to think, feel, and live.
