PSSA Testing
Grades 3, 4, & 5
Mr. Lewis J. Correale III - PrincipalChapter 4 of the State Board of Education Regulations requires that all students in grade 3, 4, and 5 participate in the annual reading and math Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA). In addition, 4th grade participates in the science PSSA and 5th grade participates in the writing PSSA.We are extremely pleased to note that West Hanover Elementary was awarded the Governor's Award for Excellence in Academics for the 2012-2013 school year. West Hanover was the only school in the Central Dauphin School District to receive this award and one of only three elementary schools in Dauphin county to be presented with this honor. This is an outstanding accomplishment that should be celebrated by everyone in the West Hanover community. It should be noted that our WH students continue to score near or above the district and state averages in all testing areas. With the continued effort of students, teachers, and parents, I am confident West Hanover Elementary will continue this path of academic success.
