As we all know, many individuals struggle over the holidays with stress and anxiety.  This year, the additional stress of the pandemic has impacted families everywhere.  From resolving differencing opinions on how to stay safe, agreeing on plans, dealing with disappointment and frustration, worrying about job loss and food insecurity to struggling with medical needs, many are in need of supports.  As a reminder, the CDSD Social Workers maintain a resource site with many valuable resources to help families cope.  This site will be added to the main page of the district website and I am including a link below.

If you need to connect with resources in your community, but don’t know where to look, Pennsylvania 211 is a great place to start. From help with utility bills, to housing assistance, after-school programs for kids, and more, you can dial 211 or text your zip code to #898-211 to talk with a resource specialist for free. Available 24/7, and providing help in 180 languages
Well, we are back to remote learning for a bit...in the meantime, visit my google classroom!
Each student has access through classroom.google.com
On my google classroom, under the classwork tab, are many stories that I recorded to address common topics of concern with children.
Grief, pet loss, organization, using kind words, moving, handling worry, including others and many more. Listen to them with your children!
I have office hours on Fridays from 9:30-10:30 am.
I can be reached by phone 717-657-3210 during school hours
or email kdevor@cdschools.org at any time.
Guidance theme for the year revolves around self-control and self-regulation.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P9J4f8b1VZw
using the link above, you can see the video.
On the main page of the Central Dauphin Schools webpage, there is a link called CDSD resource site.  Click on that and there are tons of contacts for community supports for your family to include financial assistance and emotional resources.
A copy of that link is shown below.
    Golden rules for parents:
    1.  Do not be afraid to consequent, praise, and reward your children.
    2.  Do what you say you are going to do.
    3.  You are a parent, not your child's friend.
If you need my support, please contact me via e-mail kdevor@cdschools.org or by phone/text  717-329-9790.  Take care!!
