YOUTH & GOVERNMENT
Youth and Government is a great outlet for passionate, opinionated students who are interested in the workings of our state government. There are three branches in which students can participate: judicial, legislative, and press. In judicial, students are provided with a genuine case written by an attorney which they argue on either the side of appellant or appellee. In legislative, students write a bill that they debate upon at model. In press, students write articles and reports, create videos, take photographs, and execute social media functions. Throughout the year, members participate in debates, elections and conventions. The year culminates in a 3-day Model Legislature at the capitol in which is sponsored by the East Shore YMCA.
Youth and Government meets every Wednesday night at Central Dauphin East Middle School from 7-8:30pm. Contact Lauren Mazzatesta at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
