  • This is my 30th year of teaching and my eighth year at South Side Elementary and I LOVE teaching at SSE. I have 21 years of experience in the Harrisburg School District in grades Pre-K through 12. While in Harrisburg, I also served as the Coordinator of Music for 2 years. In that position, I partnered with outside Arts Agencies to connect them with students at all levels of the school district. I am also a Past-President of Dauphin County Music Educators Association (DCMEA). I graduated from Millersville University with a B.S. in Music Education and I hold certificates in Kodaly Music Education and World Music Drumming. I'm currently enrolled in a "first of its kind in the world" Master of Music Education focused on Peacebuilding and Social Emotional Learning at Elizabethtown College.
When I'm not at school, I enjoy...
    • Traveling (I have been to 48 of the 50 United States, Canada, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Greece, South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Zambia)
    • Spending Summer in Tampa Bay and Miami, FL
    • Stage Managing at Theater Harrisburg and Penn State Harrisburg
    • Attending concerts and live theater
    • Taking classes at The Harrisburg Improv Theater

I am PROUD to share my love of the performing arts with the students of South Side!

If I had to sum up my philosophy of teaching music in just a few words I'd say...

    I DON'T teach MUSIC.

...about history, culture, and life THROUGH MUSIC!
