Welcome to our First Grade class!
This year our prime focus is to form routines and structure within your children’s everyday lives. In our current struggle with COVID-19, structure and communication are ABSOLUTELY essential. On Back to School Night, I will be sharing my communication app and the times for office hours! Please contact me if you have ANY questions. Due to teaching all day, direct communication with me may be difficult, but I will be able to respond to any emails- email@example.com, or texts (code given at Back to School Night) within a days time.
In addition to the students’ first “full day” school year, they will learn procedures regarding homework, attending specials (Computer lab, Library, Art, Music and P.E.), lunch routines and test-taking practices. Parent-teacher collaboration is essential to making sure these routines start this year to build a successful experience in your child’s next few years at Tri-C.
Although we are aiming to be full-time in-person, we may have some periods of time where we will be learning online. Your student should have a chromebook provided by the district (If not, please contact the technology department). While we hope we don't have to teach virtually, we are preparing for anything that comes our way. This work may include paper-pencil packets or worksheets, journal entrys, Zoom videos or online teaching programs. Some of it may require adult assistance.
If any assignment appears unclear or difficult, please contact me via email text or phone call (messages will be checked after school everyday). We will be assessing the students' Reading and Math levels and teaching routines for the first few weeks, so more detailed work will be sent home in the coming weeks.Thank you! Looking forward to a fantastic year!Contact firstname.lastname@example.org(717) 939-9591
