Growing up just an hour south near Wrightsville, PA and attending Millersville University for Industral Arts/Technology Education has kept me close to home. In 2009, I also became National Board Certified in Career and Technical Education. I am a resident and parent in the district with my own children passing through the C.D. school system.Keeping up-to-date with emerging technologies and updating our curriculum to remain as cutting edge as possible has been my life's work. I often have opportunities to work with local industries. I have developed curriculum for the K'NEX corporation and just this past summer, had the opportunity to work with a small team of individuals at Phoenix Contact in Middletown teaching 3D modeling and animation. Relevant design and engineering applications, computer animation, 3D printing & prototyping, and computer game development continue to help our students stand out in their post secondary educational experiences. We even piloted a new course in 2018-19: Drones & Flight. This class will focus on the growing professional fields of using drones, safety, and preparation for commercial certification. I am glad to be a part of our students' development. In addition to teaching tech ed to our students, I am also a district technology integrator, helping other district teachers determine ways to integrate more 21st century technology experiences into their own classrooms for more meaningful student experiences.
