    Course Objectives:

    ·         To clarify, organize, and express one’s ideas clearly in writing and speaking

    ·         To correct problem areas of punctuation and grammar usage

    ·         To expand one’s vocabulary as a tool for thinking, speaking, and writing with an emphasis on Greek and Latin prefixes, roots, and suffixes

    ·         To review and utilize available sources in the library and the internet which will enable the student to do independent research

    ·         To analyze British literary authors and works for appreciation and understanding of our own society and language

    ·         To prepare students for the writing and reading of college level material
