My name is Jenny Shickley.  I would like to share some information about myself with you that you might find interesting.

I am a 1998 graduate of CD EAST.  Actually, I am a complete product of the Central Dauphin school district, having attended Tri-Community Elementary School and Swatara Junior High (now Swatara Middle School).  While at East, I was a varsity swimmer, student-athletic trainer, football manager, and yearbook editor.  After graduating, I attended Shippensburg University where I received my bachelors degree in English with a teaching certificate and a minor in political science in 2002.  While in college I was a member of the girls' Division I Rugby team and active in several political groups.  I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Shippensburg in the spring of 2002.  I was immediately hired upon graduation for the following school year at my alma mater: CD East.  Eventually, I received my Masters Degree in Children's Literature from Penn State University in the spring of 2010.
For my first 8 years I had been teaching various courses in the English department. However, I have been teaching for the English Language Development (ELD) Department since 2010.  I teach and support all levels of ELs (English Learners) reading, through the Read 180 course, and Langauge Arts, in Beginner ELD English.  We also offer ELD Acceleration classes for any EL to receive additional support on their classwork and receive additional language instruction.
