    LANGUAGE ARTS:

Lessons for the week will either appear on Saturday or Sunday in Canvas.  There will be videos that your child must watch on our Grammar skill of the week and our Reading skill of the week.  There will be videos that correlate to each skill that your child must watch.  There will be optional practice exercises to do as well.  Then, when your child is finished with their skills for the week, there will be "Online Participation" questions that they must answer for their Grammar skill and Reading skill of the week.

In addtion, we wil be reading the novel Tuck Everlasting.  There will be a PDF of the book in Canvas that is available for free.  Therefore, your child does not need to purchase the book.  There will also be videos of me reading each chapter of the book to the students in Canvas.  At the end of each week, there will be "Online Particiation" questions that your child must answer related to the part of the story that we read for the week.  Also, I am asking your child to write down 3 main ideas for each chapter.  If there is time, your child will be creating a Power point presentation, Google slide presentation, or Prezi about Tuck Everllasting.  They will need one slide for each chapter that we will be reading.

I will be having Zoom sessions on Mondays at 9:00AM for direct instruction and  Mondays at 11:00AM for questions and answers.  I will send out a Zoom link via email 30 minutes before each session is supposed to begin.  Your child can click on the link to join the sessions.  Zoom sessions are not required.  Zoom sessions may not be recorded. Your child may not record Zoom sessions from their computer or electronic device.  This is not permitted.  Students must use school language and dress appropriately for Zoom sessions.  Zoom sessions may not be recorded in any way.  Again, Zoom sessions are optional.

I will send out an email on either Saturday or Sunday with three announcements:  Grammar skill, Reading skill, and Novel study. These announcements will be in Canvas as well.

I will be putting in a grade each week based on the rubric that I will email to all parents and students.  The students must watch all videos related to the grammar skill, reading skill, and novel study.  The students must anser the "Online Participation" questions related to the grammra skill, reading skill, and novel study.
