Dear CDSD Community,
The GIANT Company is once again partnering with our school district’s food service organization to help support children in our school district facing food insecurity. We wanted to share this with you in advance to ask you to start thinking about ways you can communicate this message to your school and greater community to encourage participation in this effort.
January 1 through February 28, everyone who shops at GIANT, MARTIN’S and GIANT Heirloom Market stores will be invited to “ROUND UP AT THE REGISTER” and donate the round-up amount of their bill to support feeding school kids. The GIANT Company will also include CHOICE Rewards points that are converted to grocery dollars.
The GIANT Company will also hold a food donation program January 20th-January 30th. Please encourage family and friends to donate at their local store.
As we have returned to school after the winter holidays, we ask our school community to help spread the word of this program to ensure its success. Our goal is to support the children in our district who need the most help accessing nutritious meals and snacks. From backpacks with weekend food, to clearing lunch debt, to building a community pantry in our schools, the funds will be provided directly to our district’s food organization for use, at our discretion, to address food insecurity in our school communities.
