Message from Ms. Melissa Grady

Grady

Dear Parents and Guardians,

It is with great excitement that I introduce myself to the families of Tri-Community Elementary School and I look forward to meeting you in person.

My name is Ms. Melissa Grady. The first thing I want to tell you is that I went to Tri-Community Elementary school as a student myself; I also went to Swatara Middle School and graduated from East High School. So, it is with profound enthusiasm that I am back here where my own education began. This community is very important to me; it is where I grew up and it just feels like home!

I graduated from Millersville University with a dual certification in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I received my Master’s Degree from Wilkes University in Early Childhood Literacy. I then received my Principal certification through the University of Scranton and my ESL certification through Wilkes University. I have taught Kindergarten through 5th grades, with the majority of my 13 years of experience in Kindergarten, second and fifth grades. I was also a reading intervention teacher in grades K-8. I taught for 8 years in Harrisburg School District and 5 years, here in Central Dauphin School District at South Side Elementary School.

I am eager to continue my journey here at Tri-Community Elementary School and work with you, the students and staff! I look forward to getting to know you and your child(ren) and building a positive relationship with you to partnership in providing your child(ren) with a successful learning experience in their elementary years.

Please feel free to reach out with questions or concerns to my email address at mgrady@cdschools.org or call the school at 717-939-9591.

Melissa Grady, M.Ed. Assistant Principal
